In keeping with the tradition of the United Methodist Church, the Adult Ministries Committee and pastoral staff believe that everyone who attends BUMC should be intentionally seeking to know God better by studying the Bible and learning from the rich variety of books and devotional materials available today. Toward that end we are choosing, organizing and presenting
our adult education offerings following the model of a university, with an academic calendar and departments. We have broken the year into academic quarters, and in each quarter we will offer a mix of short-term and longer-term/ongoing classes in five key areas: Bible Study, Theology,
Our Social Principles, The Local Church in Action, and Spiritual Growth. In each quarter, there will be offerings in all five areas. It is our hope that you will become an active participant in The ACADEMY, and that you will be blessed by it so that you may be a blessing to others.

CLASSES DURING THE WEEK

DivorceCare meets Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00 PM for people who are separated, newly divorced, or working on divorce-related issues. You can join at any time. Carol Rose is facilitator. Contact the church office to express interest.

Women in Study

A bible study and fellowship for women, this group meets Thursdays from 10:00-11:30am, usually followed by lunch at Spartan’s restaurant. The facilitator is Mary Ruth Giese. Newcomers are welcome at any time during the year.

Prayer Shawl

Shawls are made and dedicated by this ministry as symbols of God’s comfort. Group meets every Tuesday at 7:30PM in B12. No experience necessary.

YAHWEH YOGA!

Yahweh Yoga is a Christ-centered yoga, perfect for beginners as well as more experienced yoga enthusiasts, which meets each Wednesday at 8:00PM. Coordinator is Brenda Trask. Certified trainer is Jen Lincoln.
