God has placed within each of us the desire to make a difference. As Christians, we do that by following Jesus’ example of serving others. Serving in Jesus’ name does make a difference – in us personally, in our families, our communities, and our world. When we serve, we grow in personal discipleship, discern God’s purposes for our lives, and find joy and fulfillment in ministry. Combining our gifts and skills in servant ministry moves us as a church toward our vision of welcoming all to learn, live and share Christ’s life-changing love. Called to Serve is BUMC’s ministry of engaging our members in service. It is our hope that through Called to Serve, you will find the encouragement and information you need to respond to God’s call. It is our prayer that you will see and experience the difference that serving in Christ’s name makes within us, among us, and around us.
