Kristen Kelso, Education Assistant
Kristin and her family joined Burke UMC in October 2008 and she has been on staff as the Education Assistant since October 2009. Prior to joining the BUMC staff, Kristin volunteered as a Sunday School Art Teacher, taught Science during Vacation Bible School, and assisted with Children's Choir activities. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and spent 12 years in retail management prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom for 5 years after her youngest daughter was born.
Kristin has been married to Mark, a Naval Flight Officer, for 16 years and they have moved across the country from Virginia to California and back four times due to Mark's Navy assignments. They have two daughters, Morgan and Allyson.
Outside of working at Burke UMC, Kristin volunteers as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, PTA President at White Oaks Elementary School, and Family Liaison for the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED). She also enjoys reading, watching tv, and spending time with her family.
