Rev. Dr. Jason Snow
Jason grew up on Long Island, NY and Richmond, VA. He started attending church as a youth in Richmond, which began his spiritual journey. He went to James Madison University and received a Degree in Music Education. He taught high school choir and IB Music at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, VA before answering God’s call to full-time ministry.
Jason went to Candler School of Theology at Emory University where he received his Masters of Divinity in 2005. He also met his wife Sarah at Candler while she was attending seminary. Jason served at Fairfax United Methodist Church as associate pastor for 7 years. During that time, Jason and Sarah welcomed their two sons into the world: Hunter and Graham. Before serving at Burke, Jason served as pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hampton, VA. In 2015, Jason received his Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Seminary in Church Leadership Excellence.
Jason is passionate about the church being a conduit of God’s grace in the community. Jason has a passion for intentional and meaningful worship, transformational mission and spiritual growth through learning and community. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and playing games. Be sure to introduce yourself if he hasn't met you yet!
Rev. Evelyn Archer-Taminger
Evelyn grew up in Yorktown, VA and the United Methodist Church has been home for her entire life. She first began to understand a call to ministry as a tween, and ever since then, has aimed to educate herself and grow in faith to serve the church in the world!
She has a BA in Religious Studies and Communications from Randolph-Macon College and received an MDiv from Duke Divinity School. Throughout her vocational education she has been blessed to serve multiple churches as a Pastoral Intern, as well as two nonprofits (Highland Support Project [Xela, Guatemala] and Student Action with Farmworkers [Durham, NC]). She is also grateful for her experience in Clinical Pastoral Education! Some of her passions in ministry include social justice, preaching/public proclamation, worship leading, ministry with LatinX Migrant Communities, LGBTQ+ support, pastoral care in chronic illness, and church administration.
In her free time, she loves hiking, playing music (her instrument of choice is the Tuba!), comic books and movies, rewatching musicals, caring for animals, studying history/current events, and having insightful conversations. She is excited for you to meet her husband Aaron (who works in Forestry) and their sweet lab mix Bindi.
Director of Music Ministries
Tammy Zerbo received a Master of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music with concentrations in vocal and choral performance and completed teacher certification for Orff Schulwerk Pedagogy. She has taught high school and middle school chorus, elementary general music, music theater, voice, and piano.
Throughout her family's many military moves, she has worked for several churches as director of youth choir, assistant chancel choir director, featured soloist, and Vacation Bible School music director. Tammy is mom to Tamara, Sara, and Zac.

Director of Children and Youth Discipleship
Katie grew up an Air Force brat. Her dad retired when she was in high school in Fairfax and NOVA has been her home ever since. Katie earned her BA in Psychology from George Mason University with a minor in Religious Studies. She then went on to earn a MEd with a concentration in Severe Disabilities. After she graduated, she began a career as a special education teacher. In the time since, Katie has worked in the classroom, in administration, and in the church setting. After directing Burke United Methodist Preschool for 8 years, Katie transitioned into the role of Director of Children and Youth Discipleship at BUMC in 2021.
Katie is passionate about providing intentional, meaningful, and enriching discipleship opportunities for children and youth that help them to grow spiritually and she is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment where ALL children, youth, and families are welcomed, affirmed, and excited to participate in the life of the church.
Katie and her husband Dave are blessed with their children Casey (14), Sasha (9), & Zac (7). In her free time Katie enjoys camping with her family, going on hikes, and reading a good book.
Director of Outreach
Jane Wilson joined the staff as Director of Missions in 2015 after several years as the Chair of the Missions Committee of the church. Jane retired from Macys after a career of 33 years. She then spent three years as a Community Advocate working with FACETS, a local non-profit working to end homelessness in Fairfax County before coming to BUMC. Jane’s passion for mission work as spanned several decades, volunteering with homeless shelters and food ministries at her past churches, and learning more about international poverty through Volunteers in Mission trips abroad. She feels blessed to be part of the vibrant Missions team that thrives here at BUMC and wishes everyone could experience the joy of being the hands of Christ here in our community. Jane’s two daughters and their husbands and families live in the area, and she is enjoying her new role as “Gigi” to granddaughters Emma and Olivia.
Linda grew up in Ashland, KY and has been a United Methodist since she was a baby in the nursery. She took piano and organ lessons throughout her childhood and teen years and was very active in her church through choirs and UMYF. She accompanied choirs and was a substitute organist.
At Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, Linda continued with organ studies, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Later, while living in Charleston, SC where her family was stationed for the Navy, she received an MBA at The Citadel.
Linda has been a member of Burke UMC since 1994 and on staff as organist since 2008. She lives in Fairfax and enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, Chris (and Cassie), Rob, and her grandson, Cody.

Janet grew up in Magnolia, New Jersey and regularly attended Magnolia Methodist Church before moving to Virginia in 1968. Janet worked for the Department of Defense for over 40 years and retired in 2016. She is now enjoying working part time with the Mission Team. She has been attending BUMC since 1997. Janet did the Walk to Emmus, has been a Stephen Minister, Sunday School Teacher and served on Staff Parrish. Janet has two daughters (and son-in-laws) and four grandchildren.
Julie Manly Chapman is a native of Dalton, GA, a graduate of Florida Southern College (Lakeland, FL), earned a Master of Theological Studies from Wesley Seminary (Washington, DC) in 1984 and became a Virginia resident. As an adult she has been an active leader in Girl Scouts, SWVa Emmaus Community, Appalachian Service Project home repairs, UM district and conference committees and numerous volunteer jobs within her church congregations.
Julie’s professional career has included national church program staff, retirement home chaplain, regional sales representative, bookstore manager, and church treasurer.
After many years working in Tidewater Virginia, her daughter and son-in-law convinced her to relocate to Northern Virginia. She joined the staff of Burke UMC as office manager in May 2019 and is delighted to be here!
Director of Communications
Michelle (she/her) grew up in the Northern VA area before moving away for college/grad school. She studied Human Development at Virginia Tech (go Hokies!) and then moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue her MDiv at Emory's Candler School of Theology. She graduated from Emory in 2019 and worked on staff at a United Methodist church plant in a variety of roles including children's ministry, community outreach, and communications. She will still be living in Atlanta, but her family is all in Virginia (Haymarket and Centreville) so she is thrilled to have an excuse to come home more often!
In her spare time, she loves trying out new low-waste gluten free/vegetarian recipes, discovering new thrift stores, and watching the latest Netflix original series. Michelle is passionate about environmental justice and the role of people of faith in the fight for climate justice. On the weekends, her favorite place to be is in a park on a picnic blanket with some good food and friends.
Michelle loves working with communities to tell their stories well and she can't wait to be a part of the team here at Burke UMC!
Tom grew up in a little suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived there until moving to Northern Virginia at 19. He was accepted into the Secret Service Uniformed Division in 1983 and retired as a Sergeant in 2005. He then went to work in security for INOVA Health Systems where he held various administrative positions. He retired again in 2017. He joined the BUMC church staff in August 2018 as their maintenance technician which eventually evolved into the position of Property Manager. He and his wife Shelley of 43 years joined BUMC thirty years ago in 1991. They have two daughters, Rita, and Elissa, and eight grandchildren. Tom loves to golf, garden, travel, and watch his grandchildren in their sports events. He also enjoys being a part of the church family.
Lindsey went to Christopher Newport University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications. She is currently continuing her education by earning her Early Childhood Education Certificate.
Lindsey lives in Clifton with her husband Charlie, her two boys; Jake and Luke, and her 2 dogs; Jack and Bandit.
In her free time you will find Lindsey coaching youth soccer, playing soccer on her adult team, and cheering her own boys on in their sporting events. She and her family also enjoy going to the beach and to amusement parks over the summer.

We are so grateful for the people who serve on our Leadership Board! They meet monthly and help us to make decisions about our ministries and overall church vision. The Leadership Board is made up of 12 people, plus the 2 pastors, and our office manager serves as the secretary.
