As our nation turns 250 and Burke UMC turns 100 next year, we're celebrating both milestones the best way we know how: by coming together. Join us for a morning of hands-on service, community, and connection.
This year will be bigger than ever — with activities for all ages, from meal packing to patriotic crafts to serving our local first responders.

What is Burke Gives Back?
Guided by our faith and the call to “Love Your Neighbor,” Burke United Methodist Church launched Change the World events in May 2010. As interest grew, we expanded our outreach, welcoming the entire community to participate in meaningful service projects. In May 2017, Burke Gives Back was born – a biannual event that has since provided thousands of meals and collected tons of food for local food banks. Our Community Co-op is an essential part of these efforts, strengthening support networks for those in need.
What’s Happening on Saturday, May 9th?
This year, we need your help more than ever! Volunteers of all ages and abilities can participate in various service activities, including:

Packing nutritious meals with Rise Against Hunger to fight food insecurity worldwide.

Food collection drives at local grocery stores, inviting shoppers to donate essential items.

Sorting and organizing food donations for local food banks.

Patriotic crafts and activities for the whole family.

Hands on service projects.

Visiting with first responders.
