We worship each week on Sundays at 9:30 am in our Sanctuary!

Here's what you need to know about worship:

-
Children ages 4 through 2nd grade are invited to attend Children's Church each week and will be released in the middle of worship before the sermon. They'll return during the closing hymn. On communion Sundays, children will return in time to receive communion with their families.
-
We have worship tools available for you in our Sanctuary! Please ask an usher if an amplified hearing device, large print hymnal, large print bible, or Braille hymnal would help enhance your worship experience.
-
We need worship volunteers! If you're comfortable being in-person for worship, we invite you to serve as an usher or a greeter. No previous experience is required. You can sign up here.
-
Online worship will continue at 9:30 am if that is your preferred worship style. You can find our weekly worship service livestream at burkeumc.org/online. We invite you to watch live and chat along! The worship service will also be available so you can watch on your own schedule anytime after 10:30 am each Sunday.
Communion Information:
At BUMC, we celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month, weekly (during the week) during Lent, on Christmas Eve, and occasionally for other special services.
As we prepare for communion in the Great Thanksgiving, we ask the Holy Spirit to be poured on us and on the gifts of bread and cup we offer. We ask for the Spirit's outpouring to make the bread and wine be for us the body and blood of Christ so we, who receive them, may be for the world the body of Christ redeemed by his blood. We believe God answers this prayer "Yes," and the Spirit does all these things. Christ is really present here, and Christ's presence really changes us.
We celebrate an open table at BUMC – that means everyone is welcome to participate; no matter your age, or whether you are a member of BUMC or any church, you are always welcome to participate in communion because the communion table belongs to Jesus who welcomes all people, no matter what.
We are very aware of the importance for many to know the ingredients in the products you consume. To allow you to make informed choices, you can find the ingredients for our communion elements listed below. If you have food allergies or prefer one of our options, simply ask at the table and we will provide your preferred option.

*Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a gluten-free, grain-free communion option at this time. You may ask the pastor for a blessing in lieu of receiving the elements if this provides a barrier to you due to food restrictions/allergies.
