Learn More and Get Involved

Serving 200+ families each month, our Community Co-Op offers a choice-based food experience rooted in dignity, generosity, and community partnership. Families select the items they need and receive an average of six bags of groceries, including fresh food and household essentials. This work is part of Burke UMC’s ongoing commitment to loving our neighbors and serving our wider community.

Get Help

Am I Eligible to Shop Here?

  • We serve neighbors who live in Burke, Springfield, or Fairfax (city).

  • Fairfax addresses must include the word “Fairfax.” We do not serve other areas in Fairfax County (such as Annandale).

  • If someone comes from outside our service area, we provide two bags of staple items and information about resources closer to where they live.

How Does the Co-Op Work?

  • Food is always free.

  • After your first visit, shoppers may shop once per month with a $5 co-op membership fee.

  • This fee helps fund non-food essentials and special programs.

  • If you do not have $5, you should still come and shop. No one is turned away for food.

What Happens on My First Visit?

  • You are welcome to visit during any open shopping time. You will be asked to register when you arrive and can shop the same day.
