Roz Hoagland will be teaching a one-time class on Christian Saints in Western Art History on May 22 at 5:30 pm in the Grace and Peace Room and you're invited!
Artists developed formulas for portraying important saints. Often they were shown with the instruments of their martyrdom. We’ll take a look at those saints most often illustrated and decode how to identify them when you walk through an art museum.
Roz is a long time BUMC member and a retired art history professor who taught at NOVA for 40 years. She continues to lead art and architecture tours to Europe several times per year.
