Lenten Devotionals:

We created a devotional booklet that is made for you by writers in our BUMC community!

There are several ways to engage in these reflective practices this season:

SIGN UP for our daily email list to receive each day's devotional to your inbox to start your day!

DOWNLOAD the online version of the devotional in PDF form and use on your iPad/tablet or print out at home.

Pick up a hard copy any Sunday at worship or email the church office (bumc@burkeumc.org) if you'd like to pick up a copy during the week.

*Hard copies will be available starting Sunday, March 6*

Lenten Giving Campaign:

Lent is a time for repentance, fasting, and preparation. We believe engaging in the practice of sacrificial giving is a great way to further ministries of social justice during the Lenten season! You are invited to learn more about this year's focus organizations using the link below and then give to any/all - however you feel led. Questions? Reach out to Jane Wilson at janewilson@burkeumc.org.

Lenten Family Choice Board:

An activity for every other day during Lent for your family to do together! You can either pick one up at the church (we'll give you stickers too so you can mark off the activities as you finish them) or print one off using the button below.

Holy Week Stained Glass Project:

This year BUMC is aiming to highlight the artistic passion and talent our community possesses, and show how the Holy Spirit flows freely through artistic expression. With Covid-19 dwindling yet still a threat, we want to offer something that everyone can enjoy whether they are physically inside the building or not.

So, this year we will be creating hand painted "stained glass" stations of the cross, on the windows by the front doors! We will be inviting members of the community to decorate each of the 12 panels (for the 12 stations) to represent the journey of Jesus's atonement. The windows will allow folks to enjoy the windows from the inside, and drive around the circle and enjoy from the outside if they are not yet comfortable coming in the building. This will also allow members of the outer community (like folks picking up from the co-op, dropping off donations, or just walking by) to enjoy the art as well.

We're still not quite to the point where we can be inside in large groups eating pancakes together, but that doesn't mean the Shrove Tuesday feast can't go on!  We invite you to have your own pancake feast at home and share a photo on social media - tag us at @burkeumc. Don't have social media? Email your photo to communications@burkeumc.org for us to share for you!
